On a motorcycle, we know this problem well, because today any machine with an average displacement can reach at least 200 km/h, even the so-called beginner motorcycles, and can therefore lead to immediate revocation of the driver’s license. excess speed.

This is less frequent by car, because not all cars can reach such speeds. However, sports car owners do not always hesitate to press the mushroom to “clean” the engine, or to check that it still works well on a straight line of the highway (and even in Germany this can be problematic).

Driving fast, beyond the safety aspect, also means taking the risk of losing points, driver’s license and vehicle. To prevent this, many motorists rely on community systems to be warned about the presence of a speed camera.

But a Spanish driver went far beyond the simple community application to certainly fully exploit the capabilities of the V8 of his Ferrari 458. The man has indeed installed a jamming system in his Ferrari, the box in the cup holder, the switch under the steering wheel and four camouflaged antennas. So the system allowed him to scramble the radars in his way and avoid being flashed.

Bad luck for him, the driver was intercepted by the Mossos d’Esquadra on the AP-7 motorway, west of Barcelona, while the Catalan police wondered why they could not control his speed. So they went after the vehicle to inspect it and find all the anti-radar equipment.

After admitting the facts, he was sentenced to a fine of 6,000 euros and a withdrawal of 6 points from his driver’s license.

In France, as stipulated in Article R413-15 of the Highway Code, the simple fact of having or using a radar jammer is punishable by a fine of 1500 euros and a withdrawal of 6 points on the license. In addition to confiscating the jammer, the vehicle in which it is located can also be seized. The driver also faces a 3-year suspension and seizure of his vehicle.
