Product recall: stock cubes unsuitable for consumption due to defective packaging

After Buitoni and Kinder, these are bouillon cubes that are in the crosshairs of health authorities, some of which are the subject of a recall. Find out which.

These small cubes have become indispensable in your kitchen. Please note that some of them, sold between April 12 and December 3, are not suitable for consumption. And rightly so, a packaging defect could potentially lead to the migration of contaminants that exceed acceptable safety thresholds.

Therefore, the brands ask their customers not to consume these products and to return them to the point of sale as soon as possible to get their money back. If you are unable to return the product to the store, you can also contact the consumer service on 05 46 52 30 30.

Pack of eight Jardin Bio vegetable stocks

Specific, the offending product affected by this recall procedure belongs to the Jardin Bio brand. This is the 8-pack of salty and gluten-free vegetable stocks.

If you bought this product in one of the stores that sell it (Auchan, Carrefour, Casino, Vival, Atac, Spar, Casino, Cora, E.Leclerc, Franprix, Intermarché, Netto, Leader Price, Système U, G20, Coccimarket and Diagonal) between April 12 and December 3, do not consume. These are lots 10082022 and 221110 with international article code (GTIN) 3760020505936.

If you’ve already consumed some of the offending batches, don’t panic, the government platform listing product recalls specifies that there is “no risk of immediate toxicity.”

One platform for all products

As of now, there is no longer any risk of finding the offending product on store shelves, but you may still have some at home as the best-before dates vary between August 10 and November 10, 2022.

In April 2021, the Directorate-General for Competition, Consumers and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) launched the online platform recall.conso.gouv.fr to centralize all product recalls.

It lists the products affected by these recalls, classified by theme and accompanied by the brand, reference (batch number) and photo of the product. The platform also specifies the risks involved in consuming the product in question.
