Leading 2-0, the Girondins conceded a draw (2-2) on Wednesday evening and remain in grave danger of relegation. The Clermontois create a breath of fresh air by taking a win against Troyes (1-0), Lorient beat Metz (1-0) and Reims beat Lille (2-1).
Bordeaux cracks again for the score
Under pressure after their defeat in Lyon (6-1), the Bordelais got off to a good start against Saint-Etienne, scoring two goals from a corner in 25 minutes. The first by Sékou Mara (16th), served by Ignatenko. Minutes after they had a great chance with a header, the young Girondins landed low to the ground and opened the scoring. Jean Onana doubles the bet (24th), this time on a corner from Dilrosun.
But even by taking the break, the Girondins are never safe and they have proven it once again. They saw the Greens narrow the score for the first time with a goal from Denis Bouanga (33rd), on a two-on-one with Ryad Boudebouz. Upon returning from the locker room, the Bordeaux folks stopped playing and logically saw Nordin equalize (65th). A few minutes later they are even saved by their crossbar. In the match of fear, Bordeaux burst.
With a burst of Bordeaux pride, Jimmy Briand thought he had scored the liberation goal (89th). After long minutes, it was eventually disallowed due to Niang’s offside. This draw, combined with the victories of Lorient and Clermont, further complicates matters for Bordeaux.
