The Grizzlies come out of nowhere to lead 2-1 against Minnesota

In a series of Playoffs that tied 1-1, Game 3 still has the potential to represent a turning point. And in a few days we can look back at the incredible scenario of this third round between Minnesota and Memphis. Much of the game for scoring and recording… 26 points in advance, the Wolves fell against the Grizzlies who had the credit of never letting go. Big win for Ja Morant’s band, big blow for Chris Finch’s men.

For the little home score box, it’s here

Everything had gone like a dream for Wolves. Not quite used to hosting a Playoffs game, the Minnesota crowd had intent to ignite and very soon they were able to expend all their energy for the huge start to the Wolves game. In the role of evening mood maker? Pat Beverley, who else. Completely possessed, Pat Bev sets the tone of entry through his defense, clearly but most importantly, attacking Ja Morant face to face. The Minnesota pit bull thinks he is the best player in the world and to such an extent that he unleashes a car alley oops with the board to end up with a layup. The sentence is crazy yet very real. MVP numbers are even starting to come off the stands, we’re definitely in for a WTF night. Worn by their franchise player, the Wolves display a defensive intensity of madness and the Grizzlies don’t see the light of day except Desmond Bane who is the only one hovering† The change of five by Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins – who decided to start Kyle Anderson instead of Steven Adams – is clearly not having the desired effect and we are even on the brink of an explosion. While the Oursons combine clumsiness and mistakes (dirty issues for Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks), the Wolves are mega-aggressive, transition pains and chain the points in the racket. Add to that a few banderillas from the trio D’Angelo Russell – Anthony Edwards – Malik Beasley and the gap widens. The score after playing 12 minutes? 39-21 for Minnesota. This gap will first narrow in the second quarter when Wolves experience an attacking air pocket as Memphis raises the tone on both sides of the field. What calms the public a bit, but the latter will rekindle during a third quarter very similar to the first. A stifling defense, points in transition, DLo doing wonders (and breaking ankles), Ant-Man doing a little personal run, Jaden McDaniels doing too much with Jarred Vanderbilt… in short, we’re about to have a parade through the streets of Minneapolis. The gap is rising to 26 and it smells very strongly of Game 4 fear of Memphis.

And then the black hole.

Wolves reach 83 points a minute before the end of the third quarter. They stay at 83 for more than five minutes. Five minutes to watch Grizzlies basketball. Five minutes where Memphis will inflict a… 21-0 to come back tied against Wolves completely stunned. The identity of the robbers? Impossible not to quote Desmond Bane first, best player of his team tonight† He was the only one doing the job at the start of the match, there he is in all the right moves to start the comeback. Tyus Jones then, extremely valuable off the bench for cracking Minnesota’s defenses. Yes Morant, long restricted in this encounter, turns on attack mode to get points on the line and inside. And then there’s that devil Brandon Clarke, placed in the five to start the second half, who will do a huge job converting the try as Jaren Jackson Jr. again hampered by errors. Absolutely everywhere, it allows the Grizzlies to take the lead and then make the gap. From 88-88 we go to 99-92, before Dillon Brooks enters the three-pointer that kills to put the lid on the meeting for good. The Memphis run is absolutely monumental, as monumental as the Wolves kraken. The latter lost their basketball completely in the closing period, Chris Finch twirled his thumbs on the bench as his team visibly collapsed, and Karl-Anthony Towns delivered the feat by finishing with more fouls (5) and blocks (5) only… shot attempt (4 in 33 minutes, all is well). 37-12 for the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter, 104-95 for the final score of Memphis, the blow is very hard for Minnesota to take.

In a somewhat wacky game where both teams had their big moments, like their big air holes, the Grizzlies eventually took the upper hand to take a win that seemed promised to the Wolves. A Playoffs game is long, very long and no lead is safe. unhappyintended for Wolves, they are on the wrong side today and may have missed their chance in this series.
