Formula 1 | ‘F1 22’ announces release date and many new features

Electronic Arts (EA) and Codemasters have announced the new version of the official game Formula 1. The second game to be released since EA’s acquisition of Codemasters, it takes the nomenclature of EA sports games and becomes F1 22.

After a year 2021 marked by a game not very rich in content, especially without the official tracks as a whole, nor the Sprint races, F1 22 is catching up and offers all the cars and tracks of the 2022 season, including the Miami Grand Prize. Abu Dhabi, Barcelona and Melbourne have also been updated.

The latter will also be the theme of a special edition of the game called Champions. Sprint races will therefore, as in reality, be included in the Imola, Red Bull Ring and Interlagos rounds.

“We look forward to introducing our players to the new era of Formula 1” said Lee Mather, Creative Director for F1 at Codemasters.

“In addition to the real-world changes, we’ve updated the physics to take into account new aero rules and we’ve reworked the tire pattern, making the handling more realistic.”

“With new and updated tracks, adaptive AI, F1 Life and expanded gameplay options, now is the perfect time for players to get into their seats and experience the life of a true F1 driver.”

The arrival of VR and a new F1 Life mode

F1 22 will finally take advantage of VR, for better immersion. It will also be possible to use two options to configure the race day in a Grand Prix weekend.

Broadcast mode will give prominence to cinematics to integrate the player into the action and behind the scenes of a Grand Prix. The Immersive option presents challenges related to pit stops or Safety Cars, with the possibility of extra profit.

Finally, the all-new F1 Life mode will act as a social hub, where it will be possible to display supercars and objects won by completing challenges or purchased with the Podium Pass, the game’s season pass.

My Team Mode and Career Mode Back

The My Team mode also returns for the third consecutive edition. He will offer the opportunity to start his season with a more or less big budget, at an extra level of difficulty.

The career mode, the most classic of the F1 game series, also returns with a co-op option, just like last year. The multiplayer mode will also be there.

In addition, F1 22 includes an adaptive AI that allows players to see how the level of virtual solo competitors adapts to the results. The game will be released on July 1 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC.
