Nacon will publish hell we arescheduled for 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox series, developed by RogueFactor† It will be a… original licensea action adventure game for third partieswith the sense of adventure and exploration in the middle of the game.

Deus Ex director creates an exploration and adventure game

Hell is Us is being developed by Rogue Factory and directed by Jonathan Jacques-Belletete. Maybe you know him because he is artistic director at Eidos Montreal, mainly directing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and more recently Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The director explains:

Our goal with Hell is Us is to bring adventure and exploration back to life. There’s no need for a detailed quest log or precise map markings of areas to explore: we want players to feel the breath of adventure, guided by their reflection and their instincts.

Indeed, the game does not offer no quest log, no points of interest on the map… In this semi-open world, Hell is Us will therefore take the opposite stance of many recent games by a exceptional freedom of choice and discovery†

Civil War and Supernatural Creatures

In Hell is Us, the main character you play in search for its origin† In a country in full civil warby strange creatures to appear. They resemble steles and monuments of the region, adding to their mystery. You will be able to rest weapons forged to combat this phenomenon which the locals call “The Calamity”.

Hell is Us will be the first game developed by Rogue Factor since Nacon bought the studio in 2018.

We are very happy to finally be able to reveal this production. As a publisher, we want to offer increasingly original gaming experiences that will appeal to as many people as possible. Rogue Factor’s first game since its acquisition is also one of our most ambitious projects and we look forward to revealing more in the coming months.
