Adrien “ZeratoR” Nougaret offers us an Esport-focused weekend with the ZLAN 2022, an event that brings together the flagship of French streaming and gaming for 72 hours. We’ll find web personalities and individuals in fierce competition across more than ten different games, streamed live on Twitch. Age of Empires, Apex Legends, Worms… players will have to prove their multi-gaming talent to win a cash prize of over €51,000. We summarize everything you need to know about the ZLAN 2022.
What are the dates for ZLAN 2022?
If you don’t want to miss the ZLAN 2022, or if you just want to follow the competitions on the games that interest you, we give you the exact program. ZLAN 2022 will take place from Friday April 8 to Sunday April 10, 2022 in Lyon, or rather in the Double Mixte room in Villeurbanne. If you want to attend the event live, know that the last day of the competition, which is Sunday, April 10 from 12 noon, is open to the public. Go to the official ZLAN 2022 ticket office here (completely). For others who just want to enjoy the event on Twitch, the first matches of the event will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 8.
What is the program for ZLAN 2022?
Eleven matches, 228 players and 76 trios leaving only one winning trio at the end of the weekend. This is the formula of the ZLAN 2022 which will be divided into three different competition phases. Starting Friday, the players will begin a first phase of elimination groups in which the teams will be divided into four pools of 19 trios each. The first six trios of each group will advance to the next stage, which will also be a group stage, with four groups of 6 teams. At the end of the second day of competition, the first two of each group will have access to the final phase with immediate elimination. The quarters take place on Saturday evening behind closed doors while from the semi-finals on Sunday 10 April the competition takes place to the public. The quarterfinals take place in BO3 (best of three matches), the semifinals are BO5 and the final is a big BO7 including mystery game.
Who is participating in ZLAN 2022?
Among the participants of the ZLAN 2022 there are trios of streamers, as well as trios of randomly drawn individuals. In total, the event will bring together 228 players, divided into 76 trios, including some well-known names such as Mickalow, KennyStream, Gotaga or Etoiles. The streamer teams are 40 while the lottery teams make up the remaining 36. All in all, they are competing for a cash prize of €51,015.
What are the games and rules of ZLAN 2022?
The ZLAN has been a multi-gaming event since its first edition. This means that the players compete against each other in different games, of which there are 11 in number this year. It includes Apex Legends, Worms WMD, ZUTOM, Elden Ring, Riders Republic, Rocket League, Age of Empires 4, Fall Guys, Hotwheels Unleashed, Pro Soccer Online and a mystery game to be revealed during the finals. If some games make it easy to pick the winner of a showdown, others don’t. This is especially the case for Elden Ring, the successful RPG presents an adventure relatively reserved for solo play. We describe the rules of the confrontations specific to each game.
- Elden Ring : Relay Speedrun, players pass the controller and have 45 minutes to kill 3 bosses (Dragon Aheel, Godrick, Crimson Wolf or Radagon). The fastest team wins.
- ZUTOM : Find fifteen words in a given amount of time with as few attempts as possible. Each player sits alone in front of his keyboard.
- Rocket League : A BO3 between the two trios, only in the final phase.
- Age of Empires IV : General melee in team relay on a map that brings together six trios. Players must hover over the mouse every five minutes.
- Apex Legends : Custom games where the number of kills and the final placement yield points. The final phase of the ZLAN is played on arenas in 3v3.
- Pro football onlinee: Matches in 3v3 of 5 minutes during a BO5, only in the final phase.
- Hot wheels unleashed : Races against other players that bring together 6 players from different teams in the group stage, and a trio against each other in the final stage.
- Autumn boys : Games that bring together players from the same pool during the first phase of the competition and from two pools in the second phase, each event won is worth one point per team and a win is worth 5 points.
- Riders Republic : A huge 57-player race during the first group stage and a 6-player race during the final stage.
- Worms Weapons of Mass Destruction : Death matches with 4 teams of six worms (two per player) in the group stage, death matches with 2 teams of six worms (two per player) in the final phase.
