The holy month of Ramadan is entering its last 10 days this year and the same question arises, the date of Aid El Fitr, which will mark the end of this holy month. In this sense, astronomical institutes and theological authorities have already revealed the date of the end of the holy month by establishing the lunar calendar based on astronomical calculations.
According to the Egyptian Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research, it has been revealed that the last day of Ramadan 2022 will be the 1st.er May 2022. Therefore, the date of theSugar festival will be for the following day, May 2, 2022.
The head of Egypt’s Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research, Jad El-Qadi, said the institute’s astronomical calculations showed that the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1443 AH corresponds to Monday, May 2, 2022.
And according to what was specified in a press release from the institute, the new moon conjunction will take place on Saturday evening, Ramadan, April 29/30, at 10:28 PM Cairo time (9:28 PM Algerian time).
The Egyptian Institute stressed that the new crescent will therefore not be visible during the evening of Saturday, April 30, 2022, in Cairo, as well as in all capitals and Islamic cities of the world, including Algeria.
For example, Sunday 1 May 2022 marks the end of the month of Ramadan 2022. The first day of the month Chawal falls on Monday 2 May, the same source confirms.
Date of Aid El Fitr revealed in France and Tunisia
It’s been a few days since in France the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) had announced that on Sunday 1er May 2022 corresponds to the last day of the month of Ramadan 2022, so Monday 2 May marks the beginning of this year’s month of Chawal, which corresponds to the celebration of Aid El Fitr.
“The New Moon conjunction will take place, InshaAllah, on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 8:28 PM GMT (10:28 AM Paris time); the conditions necessary for the ocular vision of the Chawal new crescent in the world will be met, inshaAllah, the following day, May 1 from 13:23 GMT (3:23 PM: Paris time)”, specifies the Islamic Theological Council of France, communicated to them.
The Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) has set the Zakat El Fitr for this month of Ramadan 1443/2022 at 7 euros.
For Tunisia, theTunisian Association of Astronomy“Astronomical Society of Tunisia” revealed this Tuesday, April 19, 2022 that the date of the end of the holy month of Ramadan 2022 will correspond to May 1, so Monday, May 2, will mark the first day of Aid El. Fitr this year.
According to the Tunisian Society of Astronomy, the first observation of the crescent moon of the month of Chawal 1443/2022 will be possible on the evening of May 1, 2022, mainly using optical instruments, pointing out a possible difficulty in tracking the crescent moon to the west.
