In Texas, an American found a blue dragon on a beach. Not knowing that this creature was very dangerous, he picked it up and filmed it, before putting it back into the water.
Eric Yanta is an American from San Antonio who was on vacation in Texas, on Mustang Island. While on the beach with his wife, he saw a small blue-and-white animal, about two inches long, clinging to a rock in the sand.

“My wife saw a bright blue shape and when we got closer we saw that it was some kind of creature. I picked her up with sand in my hand, not so much because I thought she was dangerous, but because she looked so small and fragile.” Eric Yanta told.
The man took the creature to examine and film it before putting it back in the water. He then posted his video on Reddit to ask people if they knew of this strain.
A poisonous blue dragon
Eric Yanta then discovered that the animal he had encountered was a sea snail known as the “blue dragon”. This mollusk has a soft body, a bright blue belly and a silver back. When he is in the ocean, he floats on his back: the blue of his body mixes with the color of the sea, while the silver shines on the surface, helping him avoid predators. This animal generally lives on the high seas, but can wash up on beaches.

Although blue dragons are very beautiful animals, you have to watch out for them because they are among the most dangerous sea creatures in the world. The blue dragon is a venomous animal that feeds on physalia, species that resemble jellyfish. While feeding, the sea snail collects the toxins from the physalia to reuse them against its predators. Thus, blue dragon bites can be very dangerous for humans, as simple contact can cause anaphylactic shock or death.

Unaware of the danger of this creature, Eric Yanta was very lucky to escape unscathed by taking it in his hand. However, the man claimed that his gestures would not have changed if he had known about this species.
“I laughed a lot when I found out how dangerous it could be. I would have done the same. I would have picked it up, filmed it and put it back in the water”he said.
