Officially completed, the Steinway Tower at 111 West 57th Street in Manhattan is now ready to welcome its first residents. At just 18 meters wide, this luxurious 84-storey building is 435 meters high, making it the tallest in the world.
Designed by New York architecture firm SHoP Architects, this skyscraper was built by JDS Development, Property Markets Group and Spruce Capital Partners. Construction of this skyscraper in started in 2013.architecture extraordinary and daring has just come to an end.
The Steinway Tower is actually an addition to Steinway Hall, a historic 1925 building that combined the former home of piano maker Steinway and Sons and a concert hall.

To design it, the architects told CNN, they were inspired by Manhattan’s golden age of skyscrapers and the Art Deco history of New York†
Decorated with terracotta blocks and bronze, the tower’s facade appears to change color and texture depending on the time of day, weather conditions, and the angle from which it is viewed.
an impressive finesse at a high price
These ultra-thin skyscrapers, also known as the Pencil Towers, which formed the skyline of Hong Kong in the 1970s, have become a real trend in the New York borough of Manhattan over the past ten years.
The architecture of the Steinway Tower has an aspect ratio of 24:1, ie 24 times greater than it is wide, making it the thinnest of all existing skyscrapers.

At 435 meters high, this building is New York’s third tallest skyscraper, behind the One World Trade Center (541 meters) and the Central Park Tower (472 meters). Worldwide, the Steinway Tower is in 28th place.
This filiform skyscraper consists of 84 floors and includes 60 apartments, all with breathtaking views of Central Park, Manhattan’s famous green lung.
