Game news Nintendo Switch: An Update 14.1.0 Deployed, Platinum Points In The Spotlight
As tradition dictates, the Nintendo Switch will be updated with a just-deployed 14.1.0 update, which you can download and install right away. Here’s the program.
Make way for 14.1.0
You know the music: on a fairly regular basis, the various manufacturers update their respective consoles to refine the experience and, ideally, modernize it over time. Very often we are entitled to the famous “system stabilization” and then from time to time to a slightly more substantial update, full of new features.
As for the Nintendo Switch patch 14.1.0, it is not in this first or second category, but rather in the middle. There are many new features, but not enough to break three legs of a Koopa: better judge for yourself.
Platinum Points and Notifications
Here is the official description of the Nintendo Switch 14.1.0 update:
Added “Platinum Point Notification Settings” under Notifications in System Settings.
- Unclaimed Platinum Points earned by completing Nintendo Switch Online missions on your Nintendo Switch console will generate notifications.
- Nintendo Switch Online missions and rewards are not available in some countries and regions.
- Setting this notification setting to OFF will hide the notification sent when there are unclaimed Platinum Points.
on it’s own, it’s always a nice little addition to remind you that your precious My Nintendo points are available. The ability to specify that new user icons are dedicated to Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing New Horizons are available since yesterday and can be exchanged for platinum points (between 5 and 10).
You will of course have to stop your current applications on Nintendo Switch to apply this 14.1.0 update: in short, we are in familiar territory.
