The amount of deposits required by banks has exploded in a year, reaching staggering levels in some regions.
Banks had never asked for so much own contribution for providing mortgages. BFM Business will reveal the figures of the calculation network Finance Conseil to you this Thursday. The most important element is the explosion in the contribution demanded from borrowers, with an increase of almost 80% nationally in the first quarter compared to last year.
In fact, an average of 52,594 euros of co-payment has to be counted in France, compared to 29,405 euros last year. Spectacular growth (+78% over one year). The contribution is now equal to almost 20% of the total cost of the project (including contribution and mortgage).
In a climate of uncertainty and rising cost of living, banks are taking more and more precautions. And in certain regions this is even more the case. In Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur we are at almost 24% of the own contribution, an average of almost 75,000 euros per loan. But it is in New-Aquitaine and Hauts-de-France that we find the strongest increases. In these two regions, the contribution has more than doubled compared to last year. In terms of value, it is clear that Ile-de-France is the highest contributor. Count more than 130,000 euros contribution per distributed credit, more than twice as much as 2 years ago.
