The speedrunner indeed had the ambition to go under seven minutes, and what we can say is that he succeeded. He just shared his new performance on his channel and it is beyond impressive. The speedrunner technique revealed

As for its previous record, to achieve this new feat, Distortion2 once again used the mechanics of the zip. The latter, if you don’t know what it means, allows you to pass through gigantic chasms, or rather teleport to specific places on the map to save precious seconds. To achieve such a feat, the player must parry and move at the same time, in very limited timing. Besides propelling the player from one place to another on the map, this movement technique, amazing to say the least, leaves the environments with no time to load. Therefore, when his character lands in an area, the landscape is invisible. This allows our hero of the day to cover long distances in just a few hundredths of a second, as well as immediately taking out certain bosses, which are hard to defeat, by throwing them into the void. drop.

That’s not all, also note that the speedrunner doesn’t hesitate to travel fast or restart the game to grab a few seconds again. Indeed, if you restart the game, you can skip certain animations that take a while to unfold on the screen. And contrary to what you might think, this technique is not considered cheating as a speedrun only takes into account the time in the game. Loading times and other passages in the menus do not count.
