A health protocol has been put in place to ensure the smooth running of the voting operations. “Wearing a mask is not mandatory in offices, but it remains highly recommended, especially for the elderly, immunocompromised, chronically ill and frail and caregivers” reminds the prefecture.
Several voters seem to respect this instruction. That was the case in Schoelcher, for example at the polling station of La Batelière, as we saw in the middle of the morning. However, voters wearing masks may be asked to remove them for a while to verify their identity.
Voting is a right, it is also a civic duty.
At 12:00, the general rate for the entire territory on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 12:00, was 17.50%. In 2017, in the previous presidential election, 13.93% of registered voters had already voted for the same time, in the 1st round.
The voters of Martinique have until 7 p.m. to fulfill their civic duty, on the occasion of these early elections.
